Description

This model provides a perfect place for testing miniature automotives and collecting valuable data.

With a size of 2.4 squaremeters there is plenty of space for simulating real life road situations. The street layout is built with the idea of offering versatility and space efficiency. It offers 5 junctions, left and right turns, a traffic island, a traffic light and much more.

For future additions there is a start and end for an additional bridge and a dead end where a second table can be attached. Along the street are streetlights which can be turned on to simulate low light situations during the night.

Underneath the street is steel wire that can be used for the Faller Car System which enables an easy way to collect data as the car can follow the wire without any programming.

Other cars equipped with the Faller Car System can also follow the wire, which makes it possible to simulate approaching traffic. A Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) mounted below the table controls which way the Faller Cars are going at the junctions. It is also responsible for switching the streetlights on and off.

The top of the table is covered with many houses, trees, figures and other details, to make the miniature model look as realistic as possible. Below the grass that covers most of the table is a thin sheet of metal. Every house and tree is equipped with a small magnet, strong enough to make it stick on the ground. That way it is possible to easily rearange the whole table without having to rely on glue. The wooden table that serves as the base can be split into two parts allowing it to be easily transported using the built-in rollers.
